Today Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau announced an investment of $102.4 million to the Ford Company of Canada in conjunction with Ford’s $1 billion commitment to its Canadian operations. The Government’s investment is part of the Automotive Innovation Fund, which aims to support large scale research and development projects that focus on the automotive sector.
Part of this investment will lead to the creation of a new Research and Engineering Centre in Kanata and create and maintain high-tech jobs in the community of Kanata. These investments demonstrate our Government’s deep commitment to boosting innovation through cutting edge technology and research jobs. Budget 2017 invests $1.18 billion on skills and innovation programs that will help position Canada’s technology firms as leaders in the technologies of tomorrow.
